During 2013, several Russian companies attended two separate 2.5 day VRTM training courses at Composite Integration Ltd, Saltash, UK.
The training courses provided in depth coverage of VRTM processing with particular emphasis on the design and manufacture of tooling.
A follow up visit to see customers in the Moscow and St Petersburg regions demonstrated a high level of success following the training.
One customer, Petroplast (see photo) has started a number of VRTM projects and has been so successful that it is now beginning to provide a tool manufacturing service to other customers.
Polet and Upiter have both incorporated the technology for the manufacture of railway trains and components. SNSZ (Sredne-Nevsky Shipyard) is a large shipyard based in Saint-Petersburg who have successfully started using both VRTM and infusion for a number of highly structural hull and deck components.
The growth of closed mould technology in Russia is gaining pace rapidly and Composite Integration will be holding two further training courses specifically for Russian clients during 2014.
