500mm x 500mm RTM (Mechanically Clamped) with screw-adjustable cavity thickness (maximum thickness 50mm)
A mechanically clamped panel mould with a sophisticated cavity adjustment mechanism:
- The lower mould is machined with a movable cavity-plate which allows vernier screw adjustment (maximum thickness 50mm)
- The upper mould consists of 25mm heat-toughened plate glass to allow full observation of the injection process (or machined aluminium if upper mould heating is required)
- The mould is mechanically clamped and so can be used at positive pressures (maximum 4 bar)
- Both halves of the mould are supported by substantial steel frames to maintain accuracy at positive pressures.
- Injection is via a peripheral injection gate with a central vent.
- The lower mould includes oil/water heating channels or integral electrical heating with appropriate insulation.
- The upper mould is hinged and supported on gas-struts for ease of operation.
