Background
One of only a few FAR 25 type certified holder suppliers in the world, this aerospace manufacturer are innovators, with a history of firsts-to-market. They have delivered 25,000+ propeller systems to the global turboprop aircraft market, covering both commercial aircraft and military, and sea-craft.
Challenge
Our client had a long history of using RTM processes, and had built their own manufacturing equipment to deliver on their production lines.
Committed to engineering excellence and engaging in advanced manufacturing techniques to achieve the best outcomes for their customers, they approached our expert team with the following questions:
- Can we achieve better control throughout our processes?
- Can we automate our end-to-end process?
- Can we improve our data logging throughout the entire process?
Solution
Working closely with our client’s team, our CI experts:
- Reviewed their production requirements and current setup.
- Scoped an optimised RTM process to deliver to their requirements.
- Specified a CIJECT 3 with bespoke attributes.
- Specified an ancillary pinch valve system to control the resin flow.
- Specified a bespoke data system to monitor and optimise the end-to-end, automated process.
- Installed the system and supported the factory and site acceptance process.
- Provided ongoing operator training and preventative maintenance.
Results
Our client ordered 2 bespoke CIJECT 3 machines and ancillaries. These machines have recently been updated, and a further four CIJECT 3’s have been ordered to scale up production.
